Job Description: We are currently looking for a driven, hardworking person to take on and assist with the Aquatic Operations of our Wangaratta Sports & Aquatic Centre. To be successful in this role, you will need to be a person who is a confident team player, resilient in nature and able to talk and manage staff and customers with ease. Job Responsibilities: Directly supervising the Lifeguard team, accountable for the team work plans & ensuring a safe work environment. Responsible, along with the Facilities & Aquatics Coordinator for providing specialist knowledge and guidance on plant room operations, contributing to Duty Manager training plans. Ensuring the delivery of high quality services to users in accordance with Council policy and guidelines and within budgetary constraints. Providing operational leadership to the WSAC staff team. Providing accurate, up to date specialist advice to management, staff and service users Job Requirements: Ability to design and deliver lifeguard training, supervision planning and emergency response drills with support of the Facilities and Aquatics Coordinator. Detailed knowledge of Supervision planning, rescue techniques and environmental factors that impact these – as well as significant experience in training staff in these techniques. Confidence in staff recruitment (including seasonal), evaluation and review techniques. Commitment to ongoing professional development. The ability to write internal reports and to draft correspondence. Excellent presentation, training and negotiating skills.
