Job Description:
The role is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to the WHS team and wider organisation to ensure the development and continuous improvement of the City’s Work Health and Safety management system. The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Administrator will drive a positive safety culture throughout the City by supporting WHS initiatives that enable the City to meet its aspirations and legislative requirements
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Lead with the administration of the safety management systems, procedures and processes.
- Provide administrative support and assistance to the WHS team.
- Provide informative service to all employees though timely acknowledgement and actioning of queries which come through the multiple channels
- Build effective relationships with the WHS team and operational teams to ensure a high level understanding of WHS obligations, needs and issues related to building a strong WHS culture.
- Maintain all WHS documentation and records as per legislative requirements and the City’s record keeping processes and where required ensure documentation is accessible for all users.
- Maintain the City’s WHS intranet page and ensure information, support and training on WHS software application and databases is provided to users.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to problem solve and work collaboratively to identify opportunities to minimise or prevent harm and ill-health to employees.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to operate autonomously and support the development of a positive team culture
- Strong communication, time management, and administration skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Exce
Qualification & Experience:
- Considerable appropriate experience in a Safety Administrator rol and within multidisciplinary organisation
- Previous experience completing safety duties (i.e. WHS committee meetings, workplace inspections)
- Current C Class drivers licence
- Possession of or ability to obtain a current National Police Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
