Job Description: To improve actual and perceived levels of safety in the City’s thoroughfares and public spaces through monitoring and effectively regulating certain forms of crime and antisocial behaviour via regular patrols, cooperation with law enforcement authorities, building community relationships and the monitoring, reporting and enforcement of local laws. Job Responsibilities: Attend to a wide range of duties including conducting regular patrols of the City’s thoroughfares, public spaces and other identified hot spots, while identifying high risk areas, and enforcing the City’s relevant local laws and legislation; Prevent and report incidences of graffiti, damage and vandalism and undertake monitoring and reporting of suspicious activity; Work closely with the local law enforcement agencies, particularly in the exchange of crime intelligence, and assist where required with the resolution of anyissues within the City’s limits; Proactively resolve nuisance activity and unreasonable interferences with resident and visitor enjoyment of the City’s public spaces, including reducing abuse,solicitation and intoxication of people in the public realm, and preventing the damage, alteration and destruction of public and private property and assets; Deliver a greater level of presentation of City Centre spaces including eliminating litter and rubbish, and where required, reporting and removing abandoned property and shopping trolleys; Perform, when required, security duties at City-initiated events and during emergency response and recovery periods; Develop strong relationships in the community which improve the City’s understanding of the mobility patterns of itinerant visitors; Job Requirements: Qualifications relevant to security and/or law enforcement and/or a similar discipline, with substantial relevant experience; Strong communication skills, negotiation and conflict resolution and interpersonal skills including ability, network and build collaborative partnerships; High degree of personal presentation and a demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with maturity, flexibility, discretion and astute judgement; Flexibility to work the hours required of the position; Strong level of aerobic fitness to perform core functions of the role; Current Senior First Aid Certificate (Desired, not essential); Current satisfactory National Police Clearance; Current WA “C” Class driver’s licence Job Details: Company: City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Western Australia, AU Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here careers-trivia.com
