Job Description:
Reporting to the Coordinator, Vacation Care Services the role of Vacation Care Assistant is to work in a team environment providing high quality education and care for children aged between five and twelve years in accordance with the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA), the National Quality Framework (NQF), My Time Our Place Framework for school age children (MTOP), Code of Ethics and other relevant legislation and governing bodies, Centre Philosophy, Policies and Procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Be aware of children’s additional needs / requirements eg. diet, allergies, medication
- Administer medication in compliance with procedures and policies
- Ensure the Centre Coordinator and/or Assistant Coordinator is informed of any problem arising which would affect the children or the smooth running of the service
- Create a clean, safe, environment for the children, parents and staff.
- Create a supportive, stimulating and educational environment for the children:
- Form relationships with children that are comforting and nurturing
- Take an active role in the supervision of the children throughout the day
- Undertake assigned parts of the daily program
