Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a flexible and outgoing Financial Controller to join our busy Finance team at Grosvenor House Suites by Jumeirah Living. This candidate will be expected to deliver strategic financial decisions whilst demonstrating commercial awareness which will value to the business and act as a business partner to ensure the achievement of the hotel objectives. You will be directly responsible for overseeing the finance and purchasing department, preparing weekly forecasts, review EOM journals, reports, and reconciliations whilst adhering to all policies and audit requirements at all times.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for timely month end closing including posting of month end journals for payroll, pension, cash related transactions, accruals, pre-paid account, Jumeirah Loyalty scheme (Sirius), fees and cost allocations.
- Completion of all journals, reconciliations, and related financial reports
- Preparation of bank reconciliation of all Grosvenor House Apartments Ltd. bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Management of Finance and Purchasing team with full working knowledge to ensure that Income Audit, General Cashier, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Purchasing/Receiving and F&B Cost Control are efficiently operated.
Job Requirements:
- Have good working knowledge of and experience with accounting, purchasing and front office software is required (preferably Sun Systems 5, Vision, Adaco.net, Micros and Opera)
- Have excellent spreadsheet skills (Intermediate to Advance level in Excel)
- Be an analytical thinker, have excellent attention to detail and the drive to initiate ideas, improvements and projects.
- Possess strong problem-solving and reasoning skills
- Have at least 3 years’ work experience in a similar role
- Have experience in fully self-accounting hotel environment
- Have an accounting qualification
