Pool Lifeguards are responsible for supervising all water bodies, inclusive of Spas & Sauna, Waterslides, Splash Pads and surrounding areas, provide first aid and emergency assistance as required and assist with the ongoing maintenance of the Oasis. The Goldfields Oasis operates 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year; only closing on Christmas Day and Good Friday. Shift times will include early mornings, evenings and public holidays

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise the pool, spa and sauna areas in a mature, reliable and professional manner, maintaining high standards of safety;
• Administer first aid, perform rescues and initiate other emergency actions as required;
• Respond immediately to customer’s needs or concerns to ensure the quality of service meets the City’s agreed standards;
• Clean pool area and grounds, and perform other light maintenance duties;
• Maintain pool equipment to a high standard;
• Set up lane spacing and equipment as required;
• Keep storeroom, first aid room and change rooms clean and tidy;

Job Requirements:

• Royal Life Saving Society of Australia Pool Lifeguard Award with industry relevant supervision experience;
• Current First Aid Certificate;
• Demonstrate understanding of duty of care and Occupational Health and Safety in a leisure Centre environment;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
• Current Working with Children Check;
• Current satisfactory National Police Clearance;
• Current WA “C” Class driver’s licence.
