Kempsey Council Jobs – Town Planner

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Development Assessment team as a Town Planner to the end of June 2023.
Reporting to the Coordinator Development Assessment, the Town Planner will work with a team in providing a complete service in relation to development assessment and other planning functions across the Kempsey Shire.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assess development applications and comply with conditions of consent
• Provide technical expertise and advice in the assessment of development proposals and related development matters
• Provide easily accessible, timely and user-friendly development related information to the community and other stakeholders 

Job Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess a tertiary qualification in Town Planning or equivalent; recent experience in the assessment of Development Applications; knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory requirements; and ability to understand and assess complex technical issues.

You will also possess excellent communication and time management skills and be eligible to join the Planning Institute of Australia.
