Job Description:

Reporting to the Coordinator Maintenance Response, the General Labourer / Operator is responsible for operating the tractor / slasher unit, including using the slopes mower attachment, maintaining the plant, operating other plant items as required (once competent) and carrying out general labouring duties as required, including traffic control.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work competency in high-volume traffic environments.
• Operate Tractor / Slasher units, Slopes Mower and other items of plant (provided relevant accreditation / competencies are held).
• Mitigate / minimise risks when mowing on slopes and near highways.
• Undertake traffic control and carry out a variety of labouring functions such as concreting, cleaning drains, pick and shovel work as required.

Job Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess Certificate III in Plant Operations (or be willing to undertake); possess current Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Management Plans tickets (or willing to obtain); and a minimum of twelve months of plant operation experience (experience operating tractor / slasher units or other attachments will be highly regarded).

You should also possess demonstrated working knowledge of Work Health and Safety, in particular an understanding of Safe Work Method Statements and their preparation; and the physical ability to undertake tractor operating and labouring duties.
