Job Description:

The Space organization in Kings Bay GA has an opportunity for a Metrology Lab Manager supporting the FBM Program. In this role you will perform day-to-day leadership, oversight, and development and execution of objectives. Develop and track metrics for the organization’s success against objectives. Ensure work groups effectively work with each other and with others in the organization. Lead responsibilities include in-lab and in-place calibration, Metrology scheduling and customer liaison, Exchange Pool management, and equipment handling and logistics. Foster an inclusive environment to promote continuous learning and development. Actively engage LM21 processes. Ensure work groups maintain a high level of support to internal and external LM and Navy customers. Lead efforts to identify root causes to issues and identify sustainable corrective actions. Foster employee professional development.

Job Responsibilities:

• Drive performance and lead change
• Timecard approval
• Managing a diverse team of metrology engineers and technicians
• Employee skills and training to ensure critical skill sets are maintained for operational excellence
• Work with external vendors to ensure outsourced M&TE is calibrated in accordance to contractual requirements
• Assess efficiencies to determine best path for future capabilities
• Provide guidance to Metrology technicians
• Capital budget to ensure critical Metrology capabilities are maintained
• Cost and schedule accountability, will provide measurable metrics that ensure lab performance
• Daily / Weekly interface with customers
