Job Description: The Senior Strategic Planner coordinates and contributes to the development and implementation of strategic planning projects with a focus on social planning initiatives, including long term strategic planning, master plans, and development of public infrastructure plans. The role works with a multi-disciplinary team in a range of disciplines to plan the future of urban, rural and natural areas to achieve a sustainable, contemporary and vibrant Mackay Region. Job Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Social Planning, Social Sciences or other relevant fields that is eligible for membership to a professional body. QLD “C” Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent. Experience in development and implementation of strategic plans, land use plans, infrastructure plans, and concept design and development of community infrastructure. Experience in planning research and statistical analysis in support of planning and implementing of social infrastructure initiatives. Highly developed project management and decision-making skills.
