Job Description

Managing, configuring, securing, monitoring, upgrading, tuning and the recovering of systems and applications in multiple different environments (e.g. production and development) in Amazon Web Services so developers and app users receive the required system performance. Responsible for configuration of all infrastructure and web services to keep application performance metrics at optimum levels. Responsible for smooth roll out of frequent app upgrades

Job Responsibilities

• Fluency in programing languages is a big plus, especially Java and Scala
• Experience in managing cloud environment that interact with mobile apps, ideally combined with working knowledge of iOS devices/operating systems, and understanding of general UI guidelines and best practices
• Experience working cross-functionally with development, design, and marketing teams
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize tasks with track record of taking ownership and driving results
• Verbal and written fluency in English is a pre-requisite; good listening skills with strong attention to details
• Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through to completion
• Problem solving attitude and strong work ethics
• Ensure continuous monitoring, security, audit and packages updates of local and cloud platforms
• Overall MSSQL, MySQL, Redshift and Postgre DB Administration
• Responsible for the operating systems updates, Installation, patches and configuration changes, maintenance procedures
• Network / Performance troubleshoot problems reported by users
• Overall responsibility for the system security. Maintain network and system security from all threats and maintain high performance of the apps and websites. (I.e. Load Balancer, Firewall… etc.) as per MAF policy
• DNS, web farm, mail server management and load balancing. Back up management.
• Set up polices and procedure for the rollouts and access management along with the development team
• Analyzing system logs and identifying possible issues with computer systems.
• Penetration testing
• A strong understanding of the entire tech ecosystem and inclined to research and incorporate latest technical innovations that support business objectives
• Bash and deployments script automation
• Manage the contracts with Hosting and Hardware providers
• Assisting the IT Team with the Dev and Test Infrastructure
• Plan and implement software rollouts, including app upgrade roll out to App Store and Google Play
• Help in setting up Data Recovery sites and making sure they are up and running as needed
• Manage the overall server and database access management. Maintain PCI 1 compliance standards
• Configuration of AWS environment to support all required web services
• Provisioning of infrastructure (e.g. EC2, S3). Configure and implement cloud capacity as needed
• Overall LAMP web administration

Job Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or computer engineering from a reputable university
• 8+ years of experience in setting up, configuring and managing Amazon Web Services environments. Experience with LAMP stack, TCP/IP Networking and Web services
• Self-starter, self-driven person who can navigate through amorphous and highly agile environments; ability to work independently when required
