This role will be managing and conducting a wide range of communication projects for the assigned area of responsibility and / or geographic area, to ensure alignment and consistency with corporate strategy and key messages and delivered to relevant stakeholders on time and on budget The Manager Communication Social Media will drive both strategic and day-to-day aspects of Etihad’s social media strategy across the business. This position will be responsible for establishing a long-term, sustainable strategy for social media and digital performance based on measurement and optimization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the effective achievement of objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff in order to maximize subordinate performance
  • Health and Safety
    Comply with all relevant safety, security, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
  • Implement the Function/Department strategy to ensure alignment with Etihad’s strategy
  • Policies and procedures
    Implement relevant policies, processes and procedures and monitor adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner
  • Day-to-day operations
    Manage the day-to-day operations by providing guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards
  • Work with the Corporate Communications Managers to support the airline’s communications objectives and key updates
  • Partner with the tactical marketing team to develop a social media strategy that increases awareness and revenue of tactical activities on an on-going basis
  • Oversee the management of a influencer outreach program and ensure the maintenance of an active brand ambassador network to spread the word about the airline
  • Manage the relationship with stakeholders to source business goals by key markets and segmentation to articulate both short-term and long-term strategies that will deliver on acquisition, engagement and monetization goals
  • Develop social media recommendations and strategies to support acquisition, engagement, monetization and increased customer lifetime value for the Etihad Guest frequent flyer program
  • Create and apply relevant testing and optimization strategies such as A/B/n testing to ensure that content is highly optimized for each channel and audience
  • Maintain & update the social media strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the airline to ensure its effectiveness and encouraging adoption of relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and the airline’s communications and marketing approach
  • Effectively manage a team of direct reports to deliver on localized content strategies and campaigns that deliver on commercial and communication objectives for several key markets
  • Manage the airline’s creative social media agency to deliver successfully on projects and campaigns
  • Strategically define, manage, plan and execute social media plans that support and deliver against set objectives and KPIs for owned and earned platforms and the commercial business targets
  • Work with Guest Experience, Marketing to coordinate and develop campaigns across product, service and route launches to support Etihad’s commercial business goals
  • Proactively partner and source updates from key markets globally to ensure Etihad’s global social media channels appropriately support markets that do now have a local property
  • Create benchmarks and recommendations to ensure that Etihad is consistently updating its social media strategy and to stay ahead of the curve
  • Partner with the sponsorship team to deliver social media recommendations that effectively integrate and support the Etihad Airways Guest Ambassador and Sponsorship activations and campaigns globally
  • Produce reports that analyse campaign performance and trends in order to improve the social media strategy and provide insight to the commercial organization

Job Requirements

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills for a diverse range of purposes and formats, including print, online, interactive, and social media.
  • Collaborative team player who is willing to tackle the unexpected, embrace change and work cooperatively in diverse group situations
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with ability to work under pressure in a high volume environment, execute multiple projects while meeting strict deadlines
  • Ability to comply with confidentiality expectations specific to sensitive matters or situations as they aris
  • Candidates holding a degree or relevant professional qualification: 3 year of relevant work experience
  • Candidates not holding a degree or relevant professional qualification: 6 years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in complex environment
  • Post holder must be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Social Media and/or Online Marketing
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated communications strategies and plans
