Job Description: The El Paso Refinery has a vacancy for a highly motivated individual to fill a Project Controls Specialist position. The successful candidate will have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work in a team environment. This individual will provide project controls and administrative support for the Maintenance and Construction groups. Duties include performing cost control and estimating functions relating to Routine Maintenance and Construction. The Project Controls Specialist will work with staff project control group to maintain consistent cost reporting and adhering to MPC Standards. Job Responsibilities: Monitor and prepare cost reports Construction/Routine Maintenance. Prepare Construction/Routine Maintenance forecasts Coordinate and review check and control estimates for Construction activities. Get involved in the early stages of budgeting and estimating Perform as the project controls/ cost control representative for the Maintenance Team Provide support to the Maintenance group in the development of Hiring Plans and Equipment Plans Serves as the main point of contact in the Construction group for iCON. This includes setting up new users, training users to use the Worklist, WSA, QA/QC/System Turnover functions of iCON, and distributing weekly reports from iCON showing Planning and WSA metrics Review TRACK time and SAP for invoice compliance for Construction purchase orders Create and Maintain charge matrix for the team Communicate with Accounting to close out month Monitors actual earned value, productivity, direct/ indirect ratios, etc. Job Requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Word, Outlook and Advanced Excel experience. Minimum of two years of Project Controls experience. High school diploma. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or an equivalent field is preferred. SAP or Primavera software is preferred. Prior Petro-chemical industry experience is preferred. Must be a self-starter, adaptable, analytical and organized team player.
