Job Description: Mareeba Shire Council has an opportunity for a Governance & Compliance Support Officer to join our team to provide support and administration functions within our Development & Governance group. The Governance & Compliance Support Officer will work closely with the Senior Compliance Officer to administer Council leasing arrangements and ensure organisational compliance related matters are suitably managed. On an average day, you are likely to work on a wide range of administrative tasks that assist the Development & Governance group including taking phone calls that have been escalated to you and completing letters at the instruction of the Senior Compliance Officer, as well as dealing with written and verbal requests for information regarding tenure agreements, leases and Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs). Job Responsibilities: Contribute to the successful operation of the Development & Governance group by effectively implementing relevant processes and systems and contributing to continual improvement, while enabling effective reporting of statistics Process all the administrative tasks required to maintain accurate and consistent service within the group Compile reports from extracted system data on a regular basis to enable others to monitor their performance, for highlighting the status of applications and approvals and to facilitate officers, supervisors and external bodies (where applicable) in managing workloads and meeting statutory deadlines Deliver high-level administration, research skills, knowledge of tenure agreements and leases and document management within the context of governance and compliance Provide administration functions and responses to all requests (both written and verbal) for information, pertaining to the Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs) Monitor and provide administrative assistance with legal representatives for matters such as land tenure, conveyancing, native title and cultural heritage claims Prepare information and briefing materials on a range of matters to ensure senior Council staff and other stakeholders are kept abreast of the progress of compliance and governance related matters Job Requirements: High-level written and verbal communication skills High proficiency in the use of Microsoft products and information technology systems, with an emphasis on efficiency and accuracy Ability to effectively self-manage priorities and meet deadlines in a timely and accurate manner to enable consistent delivery of quality service outcomes Demonstrated ability to negotiate outcomes Excellent public relations and interpersonal skills Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders Job Details: Company: Mareeba Council Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Mareeba, Queensland, AU Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here careers-trivia.com
