Maritime Safety Authority Jobs – Senior Officer

Job Description:

As Senior Officer, you will be responsible for the formulation of maritime safety or environment policy and standards. This includes working closely with national stakeholders towards the effective implementation of relevant international conventions and national legislation in Australia. This work can also inform Australia’s positions for relevant IMO meetings.

Job Requirements:

• Demonstrated understanding of and experience in developing and/or administering maritime or environmental policy and legislation and/or international conventions, preferably in relation to safety or environmental matters.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent work experience, preferably in a policy or regulatory role.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing briefing for high level international meetings or national regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to undertake research and analyse and synthesise complex information.
