M and S Jobs – Deputy Store Manager

Job Description:

We are looking for excellent communication skills, a great track record and the ability to influence and inspire a team to deliver. We will be looking for you to show us a strong drive and vision, particularly with regards to how you’d go about galvanizing your team to deliver excellence in store standards and the customer experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Accountable for the in-store delivery of scorecard measures of performance and operational excellence through leveraging colleague capability, teamwork, and collaboration.
• Deliver an inspirational, improved, and consistent visual customer journey instore which inspires our customers to shop and buy more often.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders across the Region and beyond to maximise all growth opportunities, execute fantastic events and drive conversion.
• Knowledge of our people policies and of driving and managing performance within the team.
• Support the store to trade safely and legally, protecting Customers, Colleagues, and the M&S brand
• Harness success through great relationships with your store team and Business Involvement Group
• Proven ability to lead a high performing Team Managers to deliver excellent customer service and KPI’s across the store, using all available data and MI (internal and external) to identify commercial opportunities, particularly through knowledge of the locality to increase profit.

Job Requirements:

• Good level of digital capability and a comprehensive understanding of systems and ability to exploit them.
• The ability to juggling a number of priorities to an excellent standard with pace.
• Proven Leadership track record alongside the ability to lead effectively through ambiguity.
• The ability to have difficult conversations with effective resolutions with both colleagues and line managers.
• A great knowledge of clothing and home retailing.
• A desire to push boundaries and collaboratively make a difference.
• Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to change, and the ability to lead teams through change with a growth mindset.
