Job Description: The Workshop Mechanic reports to the Senior Workshop Mechanic and is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operation of the workshop including servicing and maintenance of plant, equipment and fleet in accordance with codes of practice, standards and regulations applicable to the job. Job Responsibilities: Coordinate the day-to-day management of the workshop (in the absence of the Senior Workshop Mechanic) including servicing and maintenance of plant, equipment and fleet in accordance with codes of practice, standards and regulations applicable to the job. Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs of plant, equipment and fleet in accordance with Council’s asset management system. Order, collect, deliver and receive equipment and material required for the workshop. Ensure records are retained including repair orders, invoices, unit number allocations and order requisitions. Assist with pre-purchase assessments and prepare reports for new plant, equipment and fleet. Provide high level customer service to internal and external stakeholders and work as part of a team in the achievement of team and organisational goals and objectives. Cooperate and comply with the requirements of all Maroondah City Council policies and procedures and any actions taken by Council to comply with relevant Acts and Regulations. Job Requirements: Certificate III in Automotive Technology or equivalent qualification Current Medium rigid truck drivers licence Current Drivers Licence. Current Forklift Licence. Demonstrated Experience working with a variety of vehicles, plant and equipment. Demonstrated experience in fabrication and welding Qualification & Experience: Demonstrated experience working with a variety of vehicle, plant and equipment. Demonstrated experience in fabrication and welding. High-level of customer service, communication and organisational skills. Demonstrated experience working within a team in achievement of team and organisational goals and objectives.
