Job Description:

At Maroondah Leisure, we strive to create a new level of industry standards and inspire wide-spread community participation. We believe in teaching water safety and swimming skills that extend far beyond the walls of our facility.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure professional and appropriate preparation for class commencement, including the setup of equipment, attendance/competency sheets, teaching area etc.
• Demonstrate and enforce high safety standards throughout all Aquatic Programs.
• Provide efficient and effective instruction to Learn to Swim Program participants.
• Establish and maintain excellent communication with patrons and staff.
• Inform/report all matters to the Aquatic Services Officer to remain fully informed and up to date.
• Act in a mature, reliable and professional manner towards the centre and its participants.
• Possess and maintain qualifications and a thorough knowledge in Swimming Teaching and the Aquatics Industry.
• Cooperate and comply with the requirements of all Maroondah City Council policies and procedures and any actions taken by Council to comply with relevant Acts and Regulations.

Job Requirements:

• Engage with children of all ages and swimming abilities
• Have demonstrated commitment to the goals and objectives of the team
• Possess the ability to deliver high-level customer service
• A valid AUSTSWIM qualification, CPR and a Working With Children Check ID Card (Employee)
• Have a valid AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics to teach students under 4 years old
