Job Responsibilities:
- Implement policy, procedure and practices to drive continuous improvement towards best practice child safety
- Ensure compliance with the Victorian and National Child Safe Standards, as well as with the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005
- Provide reports and specialist advice to the responsible Director and CEO regarding the Reportable Conduct Scheme
- Oversee the development and delivery of staff training initiatives
Job Requirements:
- Tertiary qualified in related discipline (human resources, project management, compliance, justice, social work, psychology, community or human services)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a compliance or policy-related position
- Expert level understanding of the State and National Child Safe Standards and experience in implementation of the Victorian Child Safe Standards
- Demonstrated understanding of organisational development concepts to ensure an effective Child Safe culture here at Melton City Council
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to adapt communications, build relationships and gain cooperation of internal and external stakeholders
