Moonee Valley City Council Jobs – Sport & Recreation Officer

Job Description:

We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced sport and recreation professional to provide a high level of customer service and administration on matters relating to recreation and the use of Council parks, reserves and sporting facilities.

Reporting to the Team Leader Sport & Recreation, this position is responsible for maintaining effective relationships with clubs and other users of Moonee Valley City Council facilities and assist with other programs, events and promotion campaigns to increase people’s participation in recreation

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist and support the administration and maintenance enquiries as well as facility inspection audits of all relevant Council owned recreation facilities and spaces;
• Attend meetings with clubs, occasionally out of hours, in conjunction with members of the team;
• Provide clubs with up to date information on a regular basis via emails, the website and the Moonee Valley Active e-newsletter;
• Develop and support the delivery of the club development workshops and network programs; and
• Assist with community consultation in relation to the planning and implementation of service delivery, facility provision and strategic framework

Job Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Recreation or Sport with some work experience or lesser formal qualifications with extensive experience;
• A proven ability to achieve goals and objectives (ideally in recreation or business administration), organise and prioritise work tasks to deliver outcomes to a high quality in specified timeframes;
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups;
• Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team; and
• Well-developed problem-solving skills, demonstrating analytical thinking to creatively find solutions, in line with Councils policies and procedures
