Job Description:
This role sits within the Waste Services Department. The Waste Services Department aims to provide affordable, sustainable and safe waste management for residents and business in the Moreton Bay region. Waste Services delivers a wide range of waste management activities, including kerbside and on-demand bulky waste and recycling collections, operation of three major waste management facilities with landfills, two Treasure Markets and eight waste transfer stations. Impact monitoring and long-term waste and recycling strategy, planning, education and capital programs and Stakeholder liaison are also key activities that ensure waste is managed sustainably into the future. The Department employs approximately 65 staff, more than 55 contractors and manages an annual operational budget of approximately.
Job Responsibilities:
Reporting to Coordinator Waste Planning and Compliance, you will be responsible for providing specialist waste management advice and undertaking a range of duties related to waste compliance and resource recovery planning.
You will participate in the roll out of exciting programs in line with federal and state policies and strategies, aiming at achieving resource recovery and circular economy outcomes.
Job Requirements:
You can demonstrate experience working with complex data sets and preparing briefs, scope of works, specifications and associated waste project documents. In addition, you will have strong time management and project management skills, work well within a team environment and autonomously to deliver work in collaboration with others and with minimal guidance. You will be a positive and professional individual with high level communication skills and a proactive and unparalleled commitment to waste compliance, service to the community and sustainability outcomes.
