Job Description:

This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Ocean Service (NOS), Office for Coastal Management (OCM) with one vacancy in Honolulu, HI.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Advise and collaborate with NOAA leadership in all aspects of Hawaii and Pacific Island Territory partnerships and relevant organizational needs and program objectives, including program and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with other Regional Directors, coastal managers, planners, educators, scientists, and other partners, bringing regional strategic and policy perspectives to other divisions.
  • Provide briefings, advice and guidance on sensitive issues and operational problems to National Ocean Service (NOS) Executive Management for management activities and program operations status.
  • Guide and direct Office for Coastal Management (OCM) HQ and Pacific regional staff in matters involving policy and administrative program determinations to solve problems, assess needs, and assure flow of communication between NOS counterparts and programs.
  • Implement national statutory coastal and ocean programs; respond to the needs of users, partners and coastal decision-makers; deliver technical assistance, guidance, and services that meet coastal and ocean challenges.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National to apply.
  • Required to pass a background investigation and fingerprint check.
  • Must be suitable for Federal employment.
  • Must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service.
