Job Description:

This position serves as a Placement Analyst and is located within Peace Corps’ Office of Volunteer Recruitment & Selection (VRS), Office of Placement. It is the mission of VRS to promote the Peace Corps and to recruit and place qualified men and women who represent the diversity of the United States to serve in overseas programs to meet the needs of Peace Corps’ host countries.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides continued support to the placement candidate allocation process by improving existing processes, and resource guidance and training materials for purposes of communicating needs with stakeholders and VRS’ staff.
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Serves as the technical expert for new software required by the staff.
  • Allocates candidates with the goal ultimately being to improve how candidates are placed in specific assignments and increase fill rates and Agency onboard strength.
  • Works directly with Regions and such Volunteer candidates/invitees and when workload, imminent deadlines, or other constraints require an immediate responses.
  • Responsible for reviewing VRS’ Placement intake, invitation, and placement business processes from end-to-end to identify and improve operations.
  • Manage the redistribution of candidate placements in order to ensure sufficient numbers of Volunteers among programs within Posts, and considers both routine and unanticipated situations and occurrences.

Job Requirements:

  • Applicants may substitute successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.M, if related).
