Job Description: Our Marketing Business Unit, part of Pembina’s Marketing & New Ventures Division, is looking for a Rail Logistics Analyst to join the team. The Marketing Business Unit undertakes value-added commodity marketing activities, including buying and selling products (natural gas, ethane, propane, butane, condensate and crude oil), capitalizing on storage opportunities, and contracting capacity on pipelines and rail. Marketing activities also include identifying commercial opportunities to further develop other Pembina assets. The role of the Analyst, Logistics is mainly responsible for managing the day to day railcar and truck scheduling of Natural Gas Liquids Products to ensure the efficient movement of products to customers from origin to destination. Job Responsibilities: Manage fleet between spec supply locations and storage as required to meet schedule demand and reduce fleet costs such as demurrage, empty miles, etc.; Proactively inform Commercial Marketing of any potential issues or volumetric positions that need to be managed through rail, truck, re-injection and/or pipe; Manage Pembina and/or third-party fleet for accurate and timely delivery to the origin/destinations; Provide ad hoc reporting as required to Commercial Marketing and Logistics groups; Ensure all freight related pricing is captured accurately in contract systems including mileage-based fuel surcharge recovery and any other freight related surcharges as required; Monitor customer performance against contracted volumes and facilitate required conversations focusing on customer service; Proactively work with the railroads and customers to anticipate bottlenecks in the system when they deviate from the original schedule, and result in unscheduled changes; Analyze contracted volumes and fleet requirements and provide recommendations to management for storage and fleet sizing; Complete accurate month end balancing ensuring railcar and truck movements are accurately inputted into internal operations and accounting systems in a timely manner to ensure efficient close processes; Point of contact for internal/external customers, railroads and suppliers with regards to daily product movements and inquiries; Update daily tank car supply/demand forecast; Job Requirements: Customer focused, with a commitment to relationship building, high integrity and the ability to build trust; Ability to take direction as well as work independently, and the ability to multi-task with time sensitive deadlines; 5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry within a similar role, preferably with prior experience with rail or truck movements; The preferred candidate will possess a post-secondary education; Certificate, Diploma or bachelor’s degree, in a relevant field (marketing, supply chain or business); Self-motivated and committed, with a strong desire to learn and apply knowledge to create value; Adaptable to changing priorities and the ability to be decisive in in a fast-paced environment; and Ability to work in a highly detailed and accurate environment with strong and precise analytical skills and the ability to problem solve; Experienced and comfortable working with all MS products including intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills; Ability to work under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines.
