Job Description:

Trainee must have relevant experience and strong mechanical aptitude (i.e. Journeyman Electrician). Self-starter with the ability to work independently and willingness to commit to completion of a formal apprenticeship training program that includes both classroom work and documented 8000 hours of on-the-job training. Good verbal and written skills.

Potential for exposure to hazardous materials, heights, temperature extremes, equipment in-motion, dusty, and dirty conditions, stooping, bending and heavy lifting. The proper use of the correct Personal Protective Equipment for each task as well as compliance with all applicable safety Standard Procedures is a must. May work variable shifts and 24-hour on-call as required. As part of the Apprentice Academy, shift and area placement will be based on business need. Participates in multi-craft work activities as required. (EMU-craft-generic)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Automation system software installation, configuration and qualification
  • Installation, configuration and deployment of control systems software and associated hardware platforms
  • Install, maintain, and inspect control system and workstation installations throughout the facility. Inspect and review manufacturing equipment installations for design and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Interface daily with computers, performing data entry and information retrieval.
  • Utilize tools of the trade to include basic tools and electrical signal measuring and calibration devices (role-specific)
  • Maintaining major process control systems such as the Foxboro I/A, Honeywell TDC, Fischer-Provox and Delta V Distributed control systems with an assortment of programmable logic controllers (PLC) including Allen Bradley and Siemens. Wonderware and Intellution SCADA systems including Batch recipe control.
  • Checkout/qualification of electrical input/output signals and related signal wiring for field instrumentation and devices
  • Automation hardware procurement, assembly, installation and qualification to include hardware placement, signal wire routing and connection, wire separation, power and environmental verification, and drawing verification

Job Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office and project management tools (Word, Excel, Access, and Project) required. In addition, achieve objectives in a manner consistent with the Pfizer values and leader behaviors.
  • Have proficiency in English, both oral and written, with sound technical writing skills.
  • High school diploma / general education degree (GED)
  • Excellent computer user skills are required
  • Blue print reading a plus
  • Strong work ethic and the ambition to be the best.
  • Organizational skills, dependability and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.
