Job Description: Trainee must have relevant experience and strong mechanical aptitude (i.e. Journeyman in another trade Electrical or Machine repair/ Mill Wright preferred). With some practical HVAC/R training and education (i.e. Trade School or Jr. College courses preferred). Familiarity with HVAC equipment, EPA Refrigeration certification a plus, Self-starter with ability to work independently and willingness to commit to completion of formal apprenticeship training program that includes both classroom work and documented 8000 hours of on-the-job training. Good verbal and written communication skills Job Responsibilities: Can serve as a maintenance advisor in areas of engineering (process design, material selection, documentation, calibration, testing and problem solving methodology, project scope and follow up). Responsible for priority assessment and decision making as it relates to troubleshooting, diagnostics, assembly, repair, and a proactive maintenance of systems and equipment in a cost effective manner. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include: As part of the Apprentice Academy shift and area placement will be based on business need. May work variable shifts and 24 hour on call as required. Participates in multicraft work activities as required. (EMU craft generic). A Maintenance Mechanic working within the Operations and Utilities environment, performs preventive maintenance, modifies, installs, and maintains heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, some of which are located in and/or support production areas. The Mechanic also provides customer training in the implementation of those systems in compliance with company standards and procedures and government regulations (SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM, etc).
