Job Responsibilities:

In this role you will be ensuring the prompt and efficient processing of all Penalty Charge Notices, ensuring that all errors and omissions are notified to the Parking Office Supervisor. You will consider and respond to appeals, challenges and representations relating to Penalty Charge Notices and where necessary, follow cases through to adjudication. You will prepare the Council’s detailed submissions to the Independent Adjudication Service and attend hearings when required. You will process Penalty Charge Notices through debt and warrant registration where required and ensure prompt and efficient processing of all requests for permits, car park season tickets and parking dispensations. You will be required to deal with all customer enquiries, including providing information and advice on parking matters. You will promote the efficiency and effectiveness of the Parking Service at all times.

Job Requirements:

To be successful you will need good literacy and numeracy skills as well as experience in a similar administration role. You will need a high level of written grammar and the ability to write letters that are clear and coherent. You will need to have a customer focused approach to work, an eye for detail and good interpersonal communication skills. The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.  You should be able to build good relationships and have a positive influence on staff. You will work in and encourage a culture of improvement and co-operation among staff. You will have the ability to work and manage under pressure and meet deadlines as appropriate. You should have a working knowledge of Microsoft applications and good general IT skills. As part of this role you will be expected to attain City and Guilds Level 3 in Notice Processing.
