Job Description
Responsible in maintaining accurate, complete, reliable accounting information of Qatar Airways Subsidiaries complying with existing Qatar Airways Groups’ accounting policies and International Financial Reporting Standard
Job Responsibilities

- Keep abreast with any market trends and developments
- Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program.
- Train Qatari staff in various duties as per business requirements
- Ensure full awareness of work health and safety requirements and expectations in order to minimise health and safety risks for self and colleagues.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, security, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the operation to guarantee employee safety, security, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality service with a responsible environmental attitude.
- Take a direct and personal interest in reported injuries, incidents, near misses and hazards to ensure that appropriate reporting, investigation and response is being achieved
- Ensure any assets pending for capitalization in clearing accounts are capitalized timely and accurately.
- Review inventory procedures to ascertain any weaknesses in internal controls. Preparation of year end stock count procedures including liaison with external auditors and other stakeholders.
- Define areas of improvement and their implementation for all assets lifecycle accounting processes including assets acquisitions, disposals, transfers, scraps, depreciation, residual values, assets categorizations, physical counts etc. and maintain accounting controls. Monitor latest updates and best practices on accounting issues and update the management with the same.
- Ensure asset and inventory reconciliations prepared between different systems and any variance is properly investigated and rectified on timely manner.

- Perform month-end closing processes by setting closing timelines in consultation with teams, ensure books are closed as per agreed timelines and all of the closing activities are completed by respective teams accurately.
- Perform foreign currency revaluations of accounts payable, receivables and bank balances.
- Ensure accuracy of periodic system reports by proper reconciliations of different modules within ERP and other reporting tools and liaise with different stakeholders in all the departments to ensure accurate data capturing and reporting.
- Performs physical counts of assets and update the records, impairment testing of major assets, confirm balances with third parties. Ensure fixed assets of QR are properly accounted and reported by ensuring compliance with IFRS.
- Responsible for tracking the completion of projects cost into fixed assets accounts and closing out the accounts once the related projects are completed by obtaining the documents prescribed in relevant finance procedure.

Job Requirements
- Minimum 4 years relevant experience
- Experience working to tight internal reporting timescales.
- Good knowledge of internal finance system
- Must have the ability to analyse and interpret data.
- Must have good interpersonal skills
- Must be self-starter and have the ability to work independently with minimal instructions.
- Must have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of records and information
- Qualified ACCA, ACA, CPA, CMA or CA or any other related post graduate level qualification
- Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor’s level in Accounting or Finance
