Job Description:

As an Enterprise Data Architect, the successful candidate will serve as a mentor to our team of Solution Data Architects and other peers, providing guidance on technical solutions and on the roadmap for, and implementation of, our data architecture. This role will be called to solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business, requiring conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions. In addition to aiding in defining our enterprise data strategy, this is a hands-on role, ideal for a candidate who has both the interest in and ability to dive in, developing Proof-of-Concepts, reviewing queries and when needed, pushing up sleeves to do some development of their own. Being a champion of data governance, good data practices, data quality and data literacy is a must.

Job Responsibilities:

• Documenting findings, including inputs to and outputs from our data domain
• Collaborating with Architects and Subject Matter Experts enterprise-wide to understand systems, business processes and data flows. This includes day to day operations and projects
• Providing architecture governance on enterprise projects, from inception to go-live
• Translating requirements into data models which align with our enterprise data strategy, architecture, and roadmap
• Partnering with Enterprise Data Architects to document data ecosystem best practices and mentor other technical resources to live into them
• Advocating for data awareness with a security first mindset, identifying and articulating the data impacting considerations in projects and assessments
• Participating in the definition of the target enterprise data architecture, strategic direction and roadmap

Job Requirements:

• Understanding of the differences between various data storage (relational databases, NoSQL, data lakes etc.) and processing paradigms (ETL, streaming, CDC etc.), technologies and vendors.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience, including experience leading enterprise-wide data architecture projects and vision to design a target future state architecture
• Capable to clearly explain the pros and cons and long-term impacts of architectural decisions
• Experience building large scale data processing and analytical systems with a focus on Data Warehousing, Data Integration/Data Engineering, Analytics, Data Science or Application Integration
• Experience with Cloud Computing, with a focus on data, analytics, machine learning and serverless technologies
• A university degree in computer science, engineering, other technical discipline, or equivalent experience
