Job Description:

This position is located in the Office of Human Resources, Office of Personnel, Center for Employee Benefits & Services, Workers Compensation Team. This is a developmental position leading to the full performance level of GS-12. Closer supervision and technical guidance and/or on-the-job training are provided.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists in planning and developing high priority projects and special assignments that require negotiation with SSA and non-SSA personnel such as the Office of Personnel Management (OPM),
  • Develops marketing campaigns and recommends new and innovative ideas for disseminating and displaying information about benefit programs.
  • Helps ensure that employees have complete and accurate information on which to base decisions.
  • Supports Senior Specialist/Team Leader when new federal laws, regulations, Comptroller General decisions and court decisions, which impact the benefits area are issued.
  • Solicits comments from SSA components and develops Agency position and policy.
  • Assists in briefing of top-level Agency officials on any aspect of program responsibility.

Job Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Federal employees must be in good standing.
  • Background and/or security investigation may be required.
  • Federal employees must have a successful performance rating.
  • Selectees may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period.

Qualification & Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree and superior academic achievement.
