Job Description: As the Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for general maintenance functions to support distribution and fulfillment operations and keep the facility in proper and safe operating condition. Job Responsibilities: Maintain compliance with company policies (ie: using only qualified trades for electrical, plumbing, etc.), safety procedures (ie: issuance of hot work permit, fire system impairment, etc.) and local, Provincial and Federal building codes. Perform fire watch when hot work is required within the facility. Trouble-shoot and do minor repairs due to equipment failures and malfunctions. Make determination when vendor support is needed to facilitate repair ie: HVAC hot/cold calls Liaise with outside contractors performing equipment maintenance, repair or enhancement. Quality control outside contractor work by review, inspection and sign off of completed work orders. Bring any findings to the attention of Manager. Perform minor maintenance work. Some examples are: repair of walls (drywall and painting), repair of manual doors, minor plumbing, alarm test and resets, compressor checks, emergency generator and auto transfer switch testing, replacement of filters, lights, etc. Make recommendations regarding equipment upgrades and facility continuous improvement Oversee day-to-day Day Porter activities including scheduling, assigning and reviewing of daily work tasks Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred Demonstrated experience in planning, scheduling and coordinating work activities Ability to work flexible hours or overtime if required Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety practices necessary in the areas of assigned work Must have valid driver’s license and own vehicle, must provide a driver’s abstract Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of maintenance procedures to properly conduct required job tasks MHE certification an asset Minimum 5 years relevant maintenance experience including supervision Job Details: Company: Staples Canada Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Mississauga, CA Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here careers-trivia.com
