Job Description:

The Business Analyst III (Senior B.A.) will work with the various business and technology partners, and when applicable, vendors, throughout the various project phases, including initiation, concept, analysis, development, testing and implementation.

As a Business Analyst III (Senior B.A.), the successful candidate will be expected to have a broad and comprehensive working knowledge of the Requirements Management Life Cycle (RMLC) as well as the Project Delivery Life Cycle (PDLC) and Agile methodologies. Further to this, the Senior BA will be called upon to mentor, coach and guide other business analysts.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to effectively facilitate meetings of any size including the documentation and issuance of meeting minutes. Apply analytical and problem-solving skills through a variety of analysis techniques to enable informed decision making
  • Ability to answer or research questions in reference to the work effort being led
  • Provides leadership to more junior BAs and leverages skills and training to coach and mentor colleagues.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of project management methodology, including both waterfall and agile practices.
  • Influences, negotiates and consistently demonstrates leadership skills
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach in day to day accountabilities and interactions (e.g. issue resolution, providing recommendations)
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with partners and team members
  • Effective business writing skills
  • Effectively communicate; (verbally and non-verbally). Generate an action, inform, create understanding and consensus or communicate a certain idea/point
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of business analysis, project delivery practices and standards across the project life-cycle.

Job Requirements:

  • Works autonomously as the lead business analyst and coaches and guides members within area of expertise
  • Leads Requirements Management / work packages for Tier 1-5 regulatory projects or programs.
  • Identifies and leads defect resolution for complex requirements related issues at all levels
  • Knowledge of North America Credit Cards including supporting business partners is an asset
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of creating process flows, procedures and control points to meet Audit requirements
  • Ensure key project updates that include relevant and valuable information are provided as required in a timely manner.
  • Supports and may contribute to communication and change management activities
  • Sound knowledge of escalation processes and ensuring timely communication of issues to the appropriate channels
  • Sound knowledge and experience with the Quality Assurance process (review test results; defect resolution and recommend sign off)
  • Leads the planning and execution of First Occurrence Verification
  • Ability to create and maintain a Project Plan and IAD log on all projects; for projects with a PM it is internal creation only and without a PM would be for all partners
  • Knowledge of the Credit Card lifecycle (e.g. account origination through to closure and purge) is an asset
  • Participates in and may lead the scoping process for deliverables and new in-plan initiatives
  • Knowledge of TRIAD AMT technical environments (including Blaze) is an asset
  • Knowledge of Credit Card (TD, MBNA) architecture is an asset
  • Probe, challenge and understand how requirements will address business needs
  • Ability to identify and engage partner resources as necessary (i.e. when there is no PM assigned)
  • Extensive (minimum 3-5 years) experience in the BA role, in projects ranging from small to large scale
  • Knowledge of TS2 technical environments and supported processes and applications (including but not limited to Docline, Authorization process, Product Acquisition, Credit Cards Terms and Conditions, Product Features, etc.) is an asset.
