Unilever Careers USA – Sustainability Director

Job Description:

The Sustainability Director will work in close coordination with the President North America, the North America Leadership Team, and under the direction of the head of Corporate Affairs to lead Unilever North America’s sustainability agenda. The Director will lead the NA Sustainability team and the cross-functional process to:

Job Responsibilities:

• Joint sustainability planning with CD and customers.
• Engage an external network of sustainability stakeholders and influencers, helping to bring the outside in as well as build our reputation as the leader in sustainable business.
• Provide the vision for North America market implementation of Unilever’s sustainability-focused corporate brand campaigns, including Every Day U Does Good and
• United for America, to drive sustainability leadership.
• Implementation of the Unilever Compass sustainability commitments
• Lead the process to develop and deliver roadmaps for delivery of Unilever Compass commitments, including development of new market-relevant external partnerships, building the business case for investments.
• Support CD Shopper Marketing with sustainability guidance, vision and co-creation.
• Lead the North America business’ implementation of global and divisional Unilever Compass sustainability commitments, leading cross functional process, and global alignment.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required. Sustainability related is a plus!
• Experience as a leader with proven ability to drive implementation and execution of complex global business strategies required
• Track record in implementing sustainability strategies across a business, across a spectrum of environmental, social and health and wellbeing issues
• Strong understanding of sustainability topics including social, environmental and governance, and how these integrate into the business required
• Ability to manage relationships and senior stakeholders within a complex matrixed organization
