Job Description:

This position is a Wildlife Refuge Specialist, GS- 0485-5/7 working in various locations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participating in the development of Comprehensive Conservation Plans, Habitat Management Plans, Land Acquisition and Protection Plans, and other similar actions.
  • Participating and assisting in various phases of administration, yearly work program planning and implementation, preparation of program schedules, work schedules, and maintenance of statistical records reflecting work accomplishments and activities, reports, and planning.
  • Performing routine day-to-day assignments of a technical biological nature that are required for the effective and efficient operation and support biological support programs and services of the assigned Refuge/Wetland Management District.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Selectees must possess and maintain a valid State driver’s license at all times during their tenure.
  • Selectees may be required to carry a firearm in the performance of their duties.
  • Individuals assigned male at birth after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Selectees tentatively selected for this position may be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
  • Suitability for employment, as determined by background investigation

Qualification & Experience:

  • One full year of graduate level education in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university.
