Job Description:

This position is in the Chief Information Office (CIO) which manages the information resources environment for the Forest Service. As a Project Manager, the incumbent leads the design, planning and implementation of projects to meet the Information Technology (IT) goals and priorities of the agency.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists in conducting analyses, developing goals, objectives, strategies, and other strategic, tactical, and business planning activities.
  • Assists in milestone project reviews, and monitoring project activities/resources to mitigate risk.
  • Plans and manages complex IT projects involving interrelated disciplines and multiple stages of the systems development lifecycle.
  • Leads the design, planning, and implementation of projects to meet the Information Technology (IT) goals and priorities.
  • Integrates system analysis, software development, database administration, and customer support into the project plan.

Job Requirements:

  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of a Public Trust background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
  • Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
