Job Description:

The U.S. Marshals Service is the nation’s oldest and most versatile federal law enforcement agency. The missions of the Service include protection of the judiciary, court security, witness security, asset seizure and forfeiture, apprehension of fugitives, prisoner transportation and custody.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operates the USMS Mass Notification System to broadcast emergency messages and other important announcements to USMS employees.
• Analyzes incoming intelligence data from a threat perspective and independently determines who needs to receive the information.
• Maintains the security of the USMS classified documents received by the Communications Center.
• Receives fugitive tips from other federal, state, and local agencies along with the general public to then analyze the information and disseminate it to the appropriate USMS District.
• Assists and directing calls from news media personnel, the public, representatives of national and international organizations, and other agencies regarding critical incidents to the necessary USMS Office or HQ Division.
• Provides two-way radio response services for USMS offices in the Washington, DC metro area to include Headquarters, USMS; the Eastern District of Virginia (Alexandria, Virginia); the District of Columbia, the District of Columbia Superior Court, and the District of Maryland.

Job Requirements:

• This is a Testing Designated Positions (TDP) and is subject to random drug testing.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top security clearance.

Qualification & Experience:

• You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.
