Job Description: The role will require the development of project briefs, budgets, oversights of assessment of drawings for stormwater package of works, procuring consultant services for asset condition assessments and service contracts with providers. This will include inspecting assets, investigating innovative solutions like onsite stormwater detention, risk mitigation and oversight of development activity. Also, responsibilities will include project oversight across Council’s multi-disciplinary teams and is responsible for assessing all development stormwater plans and issuing compliance certificates. Job Responsibilities: Responsible for the upkeep of Council’s Water Management Technical Manual, DCP & LEP, the Waverley LGA flood Study and the continuous improvement of Council’s data records through the Floodplain Risk management process. Prepare and issue design briefs and specification requirements for stormwater renewal works to achieve quality outcomes. Undertake work site monitoring and report on compliance of approved activities. Manage the Development Assessment referral process for stormwater and Flood management. Capture stormwater assets information into the corporate enterprise asset management system to ensure handover requirements are met. Be accountable for inspecting, assessing, monitoring and reporting on the status and condition of council’s stormwater assets including private onsite detention systems and flood gates, as they impact on the effective stormwater management of the LGA. Create opportunities for cost reductions by identifying improvements and contributing to continuous business improvement which enhances customer value. Job Requirements: Computer literacy skills (including data base management, word processing, excel spreadsheets, DRAINS & TUflow Modelling) Demonstrated problem solving skills for managing risk; prioritising solutions and programming works. A positive, professional and co-operative approach to working with others. Current Class C Driver’s Licence ertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or other relevant field and relevant demonstrated experience in stormwater/catchment management. Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively respond and liaise with community and business representatives, Councilors and Government Authorities Demonstrated understanding of stormwater design, asset condition assessments, maintenance management principles, construction and capital works planning.
