Job Description: The casual early child educator will work as part of a team with a group of up to 20 children 0 -5 years providing education and care needs which meet their physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs, and contribute to the overall effective operation of the early education centre. They will also contribute to the overall effective operation of the early education service by meeting the service goals, applying the service vision and philosophy in the day to day operation of the service, and using their knowledge of current early childhood learning framework. Job Responsibilities: Develop open and positive communication with parents and caregivers showing respect and diplomacy, when liaising with them. Interact and respond positively with and have respect for the children in the service. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children at all times. Provide high quality education and care for children up to the age of 5 years, including those with additional needs. Assist the Teacher/Team Leader in the implementation and evaluation of the daily program Engage, stimulate and extend children’s interests in the program. Take responsibility for the cleanliness and hygiene in the rooms, and the setting up and cleaning after daily activities. Job Requirements: Certificate III in Children’s Services Eligible for employment under the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 and the Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013. Sound knowledge of child development and demonstrated experience of providing high quality care and education for children up to the age of 5 years. An understanding of the National Quality Framework with the Early Years learning Framework. Sound oral and written communication skills with a customer focus, including communication with children, parents and dealing with enquiries from the wider community. Ability to work in a team environment, in particular, being flexible in a fast paced environment, and working with others towards continuous improvement.
