Job Description: The purpose of this role is to assist in delivery of Council’s capital projects in a cost efficient and effective manner, to the satisfaction of the community. This includes preparing cost effective designs for works by applying sound engineering practices and principles, and investigating and supervising specific projects. Job Responsibilities: Carry out site investigation and prepare reports Carry out survey and setout by the use of Total Station To assist in the management of projects in accordance with Council’s Project Management Framework Prepare design documentations (including plans, long-sections and cross-sections) and cost estimates for roads, footpaths, kerb & gutters and storm water drainage assets. Assist in the preparation of tender specifications and documentation for specific projects Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure designs are coordinated and deliverables can be met. Assisting in coordination of the resources allocated for the delivery of annual capital works programs. Job Requirements: Skills in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Project. Demonstrated good level of communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. A strong commitment to delivering quality customer service Cadet Engineer - In the process of obtaining tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or associated discipline. Graduate Engineer - tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or associated discipline. Knowledge of the principles of design and construction of civil and drainage works. Demonstrate knowledge in surveying including the use of a Total Station.
