Job Description:
Whitehorse City Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for appointment as an independent advisor to Council’s CEO Employment Matters Committee.
The Independent Advisor will be appointed by Council for an initial term of three years with an option to review annually.
The CEO Employment Matters Committee comprises all Councillors. It is envisaged that the Independent Advisor will be required to attend a minimum of two meetings per year
Job Responsibilities:
- Attend and participate in all Committee meetings;
- Provide advice to the CEO Employment Matters Committee;
- Support Council in developing the CEO annual performance plan;
- Facilitate the development of the draft performance criteria and performance review methodology (in consultation with the Committee and the CEO); and
- Provide benchmarking and advice to the Committee on an appropriate remuneration for the CEO
Qualification & Experience:
- Skills, expertise and experience in Human Resource Management and leadership;
- Extensive senior level government experience relating to employment law and executive level performance appraisals and remuneration;
- Strong leadership and communication skills; and
- Previous experience working with governance bodies or boards
