Job Description:

A key member of our Urban Futures leadership team, the Coordinator Urban Transformation leads the facilitation of positive outcomes as they relate to Activity Centre Planning and Planning Scheme Amendments.
Leading a team of urban planners, the Coordinator Urban Transformation drives and delivers critical organisational projects that contribute to ensuring the growth of our region is sustainable and future proofed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Inspiring and empowered leadership to a team of technical professionals
• Critical priority projects ranging in size and complexity that deliver on Wyndham’s urban planning strategies
• Expert advice and guidance to Council, the Executive and our community on planning scheme amendments
• Planning frameworks for key activity centres
• Oversight of the effective development, delivery and continuous improvement of the Unit’s strategic and tactical priorities
• Outcomes that contribute to the successful delivery of our Wyndham 2040 vision through confident conceptualisation and creative solutions

Job Requirements:

• Substantial experience and tertiary qualifications in urban planning, design and strategy
• A detailed understanding of planning and development controls in Victoria
• Best practice knowledge of activity centre planning and/or planning scheme amendments
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to successfully negotiate, influence and resolve complex issues
• Exceptional people management skills with demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams to deliver results
• Experience in business planning and management, including budget development, financial management, resource management, and complex reporting
