Job Description: The Department of Home Affairs is responsible for centrally coordinated strategy and policy leadership in relation to domestic national security arrangements, law enforcement, emergency management, counter-terrorism, social cohesion, the protection of our sovereignty, the integrity of our border and the resilience of our national infrastructure. Job Responsibilities: Liaising with a diverse range of applicants and stakeholders via phone and email Identifying integrity risks and escalating complex, sensitive, or priority cases, when appropriate Undertaking administrative duties, including managing inbound calls, emails enquiries, and formulating correspondence such as reports, emails, and referrals Assessing and deciding application pathways in line with legislation, procedures, and strict protocols Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of records in departmental files, systems and databases, including taking accurate notes Conducting research and exercising sound judgement for complex situations Managing enquiries and time-sensitive assignments after standard business hours, with minimal supervision.
